Inventory and Warehouse analysts are responsible for the entire production life of a product. This includes everything from the purchasing of materials to the distribution of goods. Inventory analysts streamline operations and evaluate a company's assets in order to achieve its overall mission and goals.

Inventory analysts analyze supply chain processes and recommend any applicable adjustments for efficiency. Inventory analysts handle invoicing, electronic bills, and shipment tracking. They are responsible for maintaining the information in logistic databases and identifying opportunities for inventory reduction. Inventory analysts also update freight rate databases to determine the most cost-effective means of shipping, and correspond with air, ocean, and trucking couriers for cost appraisals and scheduling. Additional duties include tracking product flow from origin to outgoing shipments and delivery, and preparing reports on performance measures.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Collects, interprets, and analyzes various types of logistics data including availability of product, reliability of transport and delivery, and other data related to product supply chain management, sourcing, and distribution.
  2. Maintains database(s) of logistics information.
  3. Tracks product flow from origin to delivery via web-based logistics systems and other appropriate methods of monitoring inventory and shipment vehicles.
  4. Reviews logistics processes and procedures; identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing costs.
  5. Reviews and analyzes transportation costs, parts procurement and delivery processes, inventory issues such as back orders, and other fulfillment metrics.
  6. Uses analytic methods and tools to understand, predict, and/or control logistics operations and processes.
  7. Monitors warehouse facilities to evaluate inventory transactions such as receiving, storage, shipping, and inventory integrity.
  8. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  1. Extensive knowledge of shipping and distribution channels.
  2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  5. Education and Experience:
  6. Bachelors degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field required.
  7. Previous experience in logistics field required.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  2. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
